Conduct appropriate physical therapy screening, evaluation and intervention services to support students with disabilities referred by campus personnel, parents or Admission, Review and Dismissal/Individualized Education Program (ARD/IEP) committees. Follow departmental guidelines for providing screening, evaluation and intervention services for children with disabilities including compliance with professional peer review and administrative review policies.
Participate in ARD/IEP meetings as requested. Support campus teams in identifying and addressing barriers limiting the achievement of students with disabilities on the campus.
Adapt, construct or recommend specialized equipment to facilitate student performance. Support classroom personnel to effectively utilize classroom based and assistive technologies to facilitate student success.
Conduct inservice for school personnel on prevention of injuries, proper handling and positioning of students and other pertinent topics. Serve as resource person to campus administration relative to interpretation of the physical therapy program and addressing barriers limiting the participation of students with disabilities in campus based and classroom based activities.
Supervise the Physical Therapy Assistants as assigned.
Adhere to federal, state and local guidelines and maintain all records and documentation as required under state and federal regulations and district operating guidelines. Maintain departmental equipment inventory.
Participate in professional growth activities and continuing education.
